WHAT IS A NATURAL MINOR SCALE ?
The minor scale is also a diatonic scale made up of 5 whole tones and 2 semi-tones.. And it can easily be formed using this formula>>WSWWSWW<< (W-whole-tone S- semi-tone) This is also a commonly used scale, It can also be describe as an aeolian mode depending on the theoretical context.
Relative Minors Theory: this theory describes the relationship between minor scales and the major scale a major 3rd ahead. e.g if you play the C major scale but you begin from the 6th scale degree you get an A natural minor scale.. you can actually easily get your minor scale from you major scale using the relative minor theory. You can look at it this way,the natural minor scale and the major scales are from the same family and they live in different cities but you can reach one if you know the other.. Just play that major scale from the 6th scale degree.. and there you its relative minor. However, this article is going to help you practically learn all natural minor scales with or without using the relative minor theory. So Here is a full list of the the natural minor scales, their relatives and their fingerings in 12 keys.
