"The Little Things Matter>
<Never Skip The Foundation"
At the beginning stage of learning any musical instrument there is always this feeling or urge to want to rush things..you know, the "i can't wait to sound cool" or "can't wait to play a song" and stuff like that especially when you have those inspiring sound tracks from great and inspiring musician..😀 you may tend to often feel tired of your current practice routine and might even begin to make the wrong move of trying to learn/practice more advanced stuff..yeah after a while some of those stuff might actually grow on you but you will most likely meet a lot of limitations in no time.. i would like to use the scale as the major point of reference here since it is often regarded as the foundation of music..
As basic and 'simple' as the musical scale is, it still remains the foundation...of all other things...in music and especially on a piano.. A good knowledge of the scales would surely guarantee a quicker and easy understanding of most the other... said more "advanced" stuff/concepts... That is because all chords..as countless as they might be, were created and built from/on this foundation.. A scale is also like a musical map, Doesn't matter what concept you re trying to wrap your mind around...it is always resting..on a scale... so sometimes referring back to foundation can open previously "unseen" doors.... So if you are just starting out and you are feel tired or bored with those finger exercises or scale practice etc...do not quit dear friend for inside that little practice lies what made most of your inspiration on a long-run you'll be thankful you never skipped practicing those little things.. Perhaps you are an intermediate player who might have already skipped some steps as a beginner.. and might be facing some limitations or having a hard time understanding certain concepts..well don't freak out.. just go back to the foundation and fix it.. for example the next time you are having a hard time creating..some nice diminished movement and you feel..kind of lost, just referred back to the 'diminished scale'. or if you are trying to learn a new run and your fingers are not fast enough refer back to the foundation practice your fingerings the proper way this would really help you...
I hope this article has helped your musical advancement..🙂 Please feel free to leave your questions, your thoughts and your suggestions i will do my very best to attend to them all.
Thanks and Good luck.
